Memories Of Love.

it was a beautiful Sunday evening,
a perfect atmosphere for reasoning,
lovers walked pass with smiling faces,
reminds me of days gone by,
the love we had and the smiles,
before the pain and goodbye,
the memories are evergreen,
still yet to feel something more real,
she was the one i loved the most,
but for fear of been turned to salt,
i have not looked back ever since i left,
i hope time has healed her hurt.

James parked his new Toyota Camry 2012 model and walked straight to his favourite grocery store in the mall, he was expecting his new date by 6 pm that evening and he had planned to give her the treat of a lifetime and then dump her the next morning before going to work. As he walked pass the young ladies, they all turned back to look at him one more time,he was that good looking, he smiled to himself. If only they knew he was a few weeks away from his 40th birthday, his well worked out body and young face has been an advantage to a master Casanova like himself. He picked all he needed and was tempted to have a chat with the beautiful attendant by his side. He has had his fair count of beautiful women and this one's innocence got her out of jail. She smiled at him when he asked her to keep the change. As he walked out, he bumped into the most beautiful 8 years old girl he had ever seen.
"Oh Am so sorry sir. I was in a haste sir and i lost my way and am trying to find it." She said politely in a soft voice, she seemed to be angry with herself.
James flashed her his best smile. "I am sorry lovely one, i should have been more careful myself."
She looked at him expectantly. "Am i pardoned?"
He laughed at the look on her face. "I will accept your apology if i could lead you to where you are headed or to your parents."
She hesitated for a while. "My mum asked me not to talk to good looking strangers."
"Your mama is a wise women. She is right."
The little girl nodded her head proudly.
"So where are you headed?" James asked.
"I want to get my baby brother the new arsenal jersey." She said.
James smiled, he too was an arsenal fan. He directed her to the sports store and she thanked him and left after telling him her age. He watched her until she got into the sports store, She was dressed like a long tennis player in her white polo shirt and white short and as she walked pass, everyone in the mall stopped to look at her, not lustfully but in awe. God must have taken his time to create this one!! Her long hair flew in the air as the evening breeze swept through the hall, her red lips shiny and her smile was captivating, the dimples on either side of her cheeks seem to be saying hello to everyone that looked at it. This was the exact picture of the girl he had drawn up with his Ex Maria, she looked so much like the daughter he never had. Her eyes caught his for a moment and the smile she gave him took the air out of his lung, and in that moment he felt like he had known her all his life. He shook his head sadly and walked away, for the first time in his life, he wished he had gotten married to Maria almost a decade ago. Maybe his new date would last not just for the night, but for a lifetime.
  Just at the exit of the mall, he saw Maria his ex and he was shocked!! Just when he had thought of her, was nature trying to play a fast one on him? SHE stood by a jewelery store and took a photo shot of a couple who had stopped her just to get a shot of themselves in-front of the store. She looked more beautiful than she was many years ago, apart from the little girl he had just seen, she was the most beautiful woman he had seen in the mall that day. And other people thought so too as they were also staring at her. He had not seen her since her 24th birthday a year after they had broken up and since then she seem to have disappeared from the world, he had not really care to search her out though. Today he decided to say hello to her, after giving the couple their camera, she turned to continue her walk, he walked towards her, he stopped suddenly in his tracks. He felt like he was having an heart attack.
 "Dianne, you took forever sweety." Maria said as she went on her knees to embrace the 8 years old girl James had seen earlier. The voice was as lovely as ever and the way she said 'sweety' reminded him of how she use to call him.
 "Mummy am so sorry. The line was long and I didn't want to fail on my promise to Jay." Dianne said happily and flashed her mum an Arsenal shirt.
 Maria smiled back at her. "Jay will be a very happy boy today." She stood up and held the daughter's hand and walked away. She had not even noticed that almost everyone there had been staring at them. Though the beauty of the 8 year old girl had over shadowed her, she was still as lovely as ever. Just as she got to the exit an ugly looking man came from no where put his hand on their shoulder from behind and led them out. They turned back to look at him and the three smiled at each other.
James saw all this and his heart melted, he could have been the head of this lovely happy family, he was surprised she had lived past her 20s, that was not what the prophetess had said! He was pondering on this issue as he walked to his car. He had lost an angel while looking for stars.
